Working at the Banff Springs Ski & Mtn Sports in one of the worlds premier ski destinations is an experience you will greatly enjoy. We are located at the famous Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, the castle full of history that overlooks the town of Banff.
We service a very high end clientele and exemplary customer service is our number one priority. The quality of our large rental equipment is excellent and we maintain the fleet to a high standard. We are one of the premier Custom Boot-fitting operations in Canada with a great tech shop equipped with highly specialised custom ski boot fitting equipment. Our retail line consists of fashion forward quality clothing and accessories. We expect our staff to participate in on-going training and learn as much about the products and the industry as they can whilst here.
Looking after our staff is very important to us. Creating store harmony and positive team dynamics is core to our philosophy. We strive to maintain a state of happy Zen. Sales incentives and other store bonuses are available during the season. Staff are encouraged to ski/ride and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Heavy drinkers, couch potatoes and those wishing to spend their time in Banff indoors should look for work elsewhere.
Staff accommodation is available (a huge bonus in Banff where affordable accommodation is scarce). Staff accommodation is located on the hotel grounds and is perhaps the nicest staff accommodation in the valley. Subsidised staff meals are also available. Starting wages are above Banff average.
Required to keep the retail floor running in good order. Leads the sales team to achieve targets. Ensures an exemplary standard of customer service is maintained. Will be expected to attend product training sessions. Visual merchandising of the floor stock, windows and hotel display area. Manages some administrative tasks. Responsible for training new staff and leading by example. Maintains team harmony and dynamics. Positive friendly outlook. May be asked to assist in rental area during busy times. Reports to the Retail Manager.

The successful applicant to this position will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance of specialized machinery. Hands on experience working as a high end custom boot-fitter is essential. Training in the fabrication of custom insoles, use of boot sole planers and modification of ski shells is also essential. The role also carries with it some administrative duties such as reporting on sales, stock levels and assistance with direct marketing. This is a senior management position. Reports to the Managing Director.

A self motivator and strong seller possibly with a marketing background. This person will be responsible for securing new contracts with tour operators, travel agents and ski clubs. This position is a blend of strong administrative and organsiational skills mixed with excellent sales skills. Networking and client development are the cornerstone of this position. This position may involve some traveling to industry conferences. Reports to the Managing Director.

Looking for experienced rental manager for busy store in a high end location. Managing a fleet of 450+ skis as well as boards, skates, A-T gear, x-c skis, avi gear and more. Staff management skills essential. Must be able to deal with the pressure of large groups. Administrative and organisational skills are key components. Must be punctual, reliable, organised and like to learn new things, Attention to detail is ESSENTIAL. Will be required to communicate with high level clients in a professional manner. Must be able to work well under pressure. Be a chilled & friendly team member as well as a firm & fair manager. This is a senior position in our company and as such the successful applicant will be expected to take on senior management responsibilities. Reports to the Managing Director.

The Business Development position and Rental Management position may be combined to create a high profile, year round salaried position should the right applicant come along.
In addition to the skills and duties of a rental technician this person is responsible for maintaining the regular maintenance and repair of the rental fleet. Our tuning and repair work is out-sourced so this person need not be an expert in ski tuning but needs a good working knowledge to know when a ski needs to be serviced. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are required to keep an eye on inventory levels and conduct regular inventory checks especially after large groups. Ensure organisation and cleanliness of the fleet and tech shop. Is the manager on duty in the absence of the rental manager. Reports to the Rental Manager.

Fitting clients with all their rental requirements in a friendly and professional manner. Will be required to undertake certifications in ski binding adjustment as well as attending other product knowledge training sessions. Must be able to work under pressure. Will also be expected to make add on sales of ski accessories. May be asked to work on the retail floor during busy times. Reports to the Rental Manager and Rental Supervisor.

You will be expected to become knowledgeable of the local area to assist guests with questions. Product knowledge is a key component of this position.
