TOBOGGANING (SLEDDING)
Banff's most popular toboggan slope is right outside the hotel here - a slope that little kids (or the big kid in you) will love.

ICE SKATING & HOCKEY
Indulge in the magic of ice skating under the stars next to the Waldhaus restaurant. Sip hot chocolate and join in a game of shinny - a casual form of hockey played by almost every Canadian.

SNOWSHOEING
Take the easy option and explore the beautiful forests and frozen lakes of Banff on snowshoes. The fresh air, sound of crunching snow under your feet and perhaps a brief encounter with a deer or an elk will remind you that you are in a world heritage park.

SKIING THE DIVE AT SUNSHINE VILLAGE
Avalanche beacons, probes and shovels are mandatory, along with a partner to ski the extreme areas at Sunshine. Always ski and ride with care, a beacon is a last resort option.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
The best trail starts right at the hotel and is called Spray River Loop. Banff's abundance of cross country ski trails mean's there's plenty to suit all ages and levels of expertise. Cross country skiing is a relatively easy sport to pick up and is a great way to spend a relaxing day in the forest.
